I've always passed by this place, and I'm glad I finally got to try it! This restaurant has a chic and quaint vibe to it with a good amount of seating. For a Friday night, there were lots of reservations open and got busier as the night went on. I got a Taiwan lychee beer, which was sweet and refreshing. Tasted more like a light cocktail than a beer. To start, we got the Som Tum papaya salad. This was fresh, sour, spicy, savory and hot all the right spots! The portion was generous and had a good balance of all the components. Definitely stronger in fish sauce than other papaya salads I've had, but I'm definitely not complaining! For entrees, we got the crispy sea bass and the crispy pork belly with the basil sauce. We actually ordered the lemongrass sea bass, but they ended up giving us the crispy sea bass, which we weren't unhappy about since we enjoyed it, but it was a difference of $14. The sea bass itself was okay, but with the sauce and the mango salad, it was really delicious. The meat pulled right off of the skin and bones and was perfect to eat with the rice. The crispy pork belly was underwhelming. The meat was too dry and almost had a pork floss consistency. The sauce was good though, and not spicy at all in my opinion. Probably wouldn't get this one again, but the portions were decent. I also got a chicken pad kee mao to go, and it was really good. It was one of the better drunken noodles I've had and it wasn't super sweet. The servers were polite and patient and didn't rush us even though we took a longer time to arrive and get settled. The prices are standard, but I would definitely come again to take advantage of the lunch menu prices.

Really cute interior with solid Thai options. Came here with a group for dinner and we all loved our dishes. I got the sweet vermicelli noodles with tofu, and the spice level was perfect, with a kick but not too spicy. The Thai iced tea my friend ordered was also delicious. A little pricey but for the space and quick service, a solid spot!

We came here for lunch the other day and enjoyed our meal. Great decor and friendly staff. Ordered a few things off the lunch menu, and enjoyed the flavors. Definitely a great spot for your Thai food cravings fix. Will stop by here for dinner next time.

Second visit to Malii and this time I brought friends! Everyone loved it!!! They have an amazing and very affordable lunch menu which consists of an appetizer and an entrée ranging from $13.95 to $22.95 depending on the protein you choose to get. I got the spring rolls to start off with and my main was the chicken basil fried rice. Oh my, that food was REALLY *expletive* GOOD. It came out super quickly too! I did also get the lychee Thai tea. It was a lot more than I expected (ended up taking it in a to go cup) and yummy. I love (!) that this place has kept to its high standards and now that I know about this lunch menu, they'll be seeing a whole lot more of me!

Great option for takeout - they delivered on time and had awesome options to choose from. A friend and I split a chicken pad see ew and veggie/tofu massaman curry. Both were delicious, especially the curry which was a special on their menu. Highly recommend this spot!

I came here with my family a few weeks ago. I got a reservation on Resy a few days prior and there was plenty of availability. We went on a Friday evening, it wasn't too crowded when we first got there but got super lively as the night went on. The inside of the store was very cute, lots of nice decor (I especially loved the bird lamps!) The food here was pretty good, it was tasty but didn't blow me away. I got the Khao Soi - spicy and flavorful! We also got spring rolls, summer rolls, dumplings, Tom Yum, pad Thai, and the sizzling roti dessert. All were good but the dessert was so fun- probably my favorite of the night!

Malii is excellent. This isn't your usual Thai restaurant -- the menu is much more adventurous, there are so many unique dishes to try. Almost all of them are phenomenal -- from the papaya salad to some of the great beef dishes, they come with lots of flavor and just the right amount of spice. The cocktails are good too, with Thai flavors and a rotation of interesting seasonal drinks to keep things interesting. I've been a handful of times and only on the most recent visit did I hit my first snag -- the crispy lime chicken appetizer wasn't up to the usual standards. But I won't let one bad dish on one visit bring down how impressed I've been at every other meal here. And while it certainly isn't cheap, I do think prices are fair for the high quality meal you can have here!

Overall a great place for Thai food. Had a large party, and they were very accommodating. I have no complaints in terms of food, ambiance, or service :) However compared to other Thai restaurants in the city, this one isn't as unique. Despite this, the food was delicious and the Thai tea was yummy!

The crab fried rice was so good-- my friend had to get it two days in a row now. If that doesn't speak about this-- I have no idea what will! Need to try the other dishes asap! But great location near nyu dental! Cheers!
